InDex pharmaceuticals technology focuses on immunotherapy and it enables healthcare professionals to: - Restore steroid sensitivity in refractory patients such that long term steroid-free remission can be achieved
- Enhance antibody treatment response in patients with hemotological malignancies
- Offer new mono-therapy alternatives in areas such multiple sclerosis, airway inflammation, and ischemic injury
The company’s immunotherapy drugs are DIMS compounds (DNA-based immunomodulatory sequence), which we believe can treat different diseases within a variety of therapeutic areas, including inflammation and cancer. InDex has both a technology platform and a number of compounds in pre-clinical and clinical development, including Kappaproct®, for the treatment of steroid resistent/dependent ulcerative colitis, entering clinical Phase III studies. Our extensive project portfolio also includes potential treatments of brain tumor edema, hematological malignancies, multiple sclerosis, airway inflammation, and ischemic injury.
The compounds are synthetic oligonucleotides that interact with toll-like receptors (TLR), which play a central role in innate immunity. The major scientific achievements in the TLR field are relatively recent. This new immunotherapy approach has spurred considerable big pharma interest, which is evident from the number of licensing agreements and acquisitions being recorded also at a pre-clinical stage.
