Kappaproct mechanism of action Click for picture
Kappaproct binds to a receptor called toll-like receptor (TLR) 9 which is located inside target cells of the immune system. This initiates the release of substances, which mediate the beneficial effects seen with Kappaproct for treatment of inflammatory diseases.

Kappaproct enhances the effect of steroids
Kappaproct can very potently increase the effect of steroids and re-sensitize steroid non-responding patients. In this way, the need of taking high doses of steroids, associated with severe side-effects, can be reduced. In addition, Kappaproct has shown to be able to induce long-term steroid free remission.

Excellent safety
Kappaproct has through both clinical studies and animal toxicology studies, in contrast to steroids, proven to have a excellent safety profile.

Many diseases have problem with steroid resistancy
The problem of steroid resistancy is a common phenomenon in many diseases in which Kappaproct also may have very beneficial effects such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and leukemia.
